Mr ABAS A JALIL is the shareholder and CEO of ACGL after he took over the controlling shares of the company in January 2012. Before that, he served at AmanahRaya Berhad, a Malaysian government-owned company (under the Minister of Finance Inc) for 7 years from 2005 until 2011. Currently he is also a member, Board of Directors of Pioneer Engineering Caspian LLP, an oil & gas company based in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
 

Prior to ACGL, Abas was the Principal Officer at AmanahRaya Capital Group Sdn Bhd, headed the international business division of AmanahRaya group. During his 7-year service at AmanahRaya, Abas was responsible in setting up the Real Estate Investment Division and subsequently established the International Business Division of the group. He opened up new investment activities of AmanahRaya in Central Asia and the Middle East mainly in Corporate Finance, Real Estate and International Funds. He was appointed as the Principal Officer of AmanahRaya Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) listed on Bursa Malaysia in 2009-2010 before being assigned on the REIT’s Board of Directors until 2011. He was also appointed on the Board of Directors of several AmanahRaya’s subsidiary companies and investment funds from 2009 to 2011.
 

Abas had traveled to more than 45 countries on various assignments and completed more than USD1.0 billion investment transactions, where he gained substantial experiences in dealing with various transactions and fund structuring exercises in South East Asia, Central Asia, Middle East and the Russian Federation. In 2011, he was selected as one of the Global Young Leaders during the 7th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) held in Astana, Kazakhstan.
